Who can Apply for UMA Housing

There are a few basic requirements that must be met in order for students to be selected to move in to and reside during the transitions into a new semester. Applicants must:

  • be a matriculated (enrolled) undergraduate student in a UMA academic degree program.
  • be enrolled as a full-time student (defined as taking a minimum of 12 academic credits per semester in both the fall and spring semesters) in any academic program and making satisfactory progress toward a degree. Students carrying less than 12 credits per semester may appeal to live in UMA Stevens Commons Housing.
  • maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0. Students who fall below the 2.0 cumulative GPA may appeal to live in UMA Housing. This appeal must be in writing and needs to contain a plan for future academic success.
  • ensure there are no academic, financial or heath requirement holds on their accounts. In the case of a financial hold, students must work with Student Financial Services to complete payment or make an appropriate payment plan.

Please note: submitting the UMA Housing application does not guarantee assignment. UMA Housing has a limited number of beds available at each location. More details can be found on the UMA Housing Application page
